The original shirt found its way into the Paul Smith Collection in the early 1970's. The shirt survived, along with the knapsack, from Pvt. Myers. As noted, Pvt. Myers, was a member of the 87th PVI, and was captured and imprisoned at Andersonville Camp, where he died. His personal effects were sent back to Pennsylvania. My reproduction of this shirt, required that the wool be custom dyed-to-match of the original. It duplicates the production techniques of the original, which was a lapped seam construction. The pocket bag was sewn through the front of the shirt
