Date Added: Monday 24 September, 2007 Just got back from Pilot Knob, MO about an hour ago. Had a bath to wash off weekend of crud and sweat and sat done to compose this report. After putting the suspenders through a horrible ordeal, I submit to you that they survived with flying colors. The stress test included a two-mile running retreat from Ironton to Pilot Knob (with Frank Aufmuth's graybacks hot on our heels). Bending, twisting, and tumbling to the ground while acting with a skirmish company was an additional test. I also did some hill climbing, particpated in battalion drill, and was assigned to various work details. On each of these tasks, I was asked to bend at the waist, drop to a knee, or flop on my belly. The only stain on these suspenders is the stain of sweat. Not one button popped! I even considered doing gymnastics as a further test, but quickly dismisses the idea because the temps were in the upper 90's. I'd surely wear myself out before the suspenders.
Aaron Racine and his suspenders were also in attendence at Pilot Knob. But he was an officer and was not required to do the many acrobatics as I did (I am a lowly private).
All my pards marveled at my suspenders when I showed them off.
A marvelous job. Two thumbs up!
