Date Added: Sunday 04 January, 2009 The flagship garment in Nick's line of Federal uniforms, this frock coat more than meets the test. I've spent some quality time going over the finer points of construction on several original officer's frocks, and am thrilled to see those details reflected in this reproduction. The attachment of the lining to the raw-edged skirt, the outside entry tail pockets with scallops that actually lay flat without unnecessary bulk, and did I mention the quilting in the body? Federal officer's frocks are works of art, and this replica is certainly in that league. It's the coat that my illustrious ancestor wore when he picked up hookers in Alexandria, resulting in his court-martial and dismissal...can you blame the girls for wanting to hang out with him, though? Who doesn't love a frock?!
The wait time for this custom garment was surprisingly minimal...ordered at Remembrance Day, delivered just after New Year's! Paired with the new generation of shoulder boards, this coat is the new centerpiece of my repro collection.
