The N.J. Sekela Civil War Courts-Martial Database is now available as part of our growing online research resources.

Drawn from the database compiled by Thomas P. Lowry from U.S. Army Judge Advocate General records, this searchable resource provides access to thousands of Civil War courts-martial cases in one place.

The project is also being expanded beyond the original database. Where possible, we will be identifying and adding period photographs of the accused soldiers, linking names in the records with surviving images and other historical sources. This will be an ongoing research effort, and additional material will be added as it is located.

The database also provides important context for the complicated history of Lowry's research and the original records upon which his work was based.
