| In addition to studying the accompanying patent records, our reproduction is based on two identified originals in our collection. Research indicates that this was a widely used knapsack throughout the duration of the war. |

| While the knapsack appears quite simple, the pattern is actual quite complex, and took considerable prototype work and modification. Using digital Gerber Pattern Technology®, we were not only able to develop the pattern thorough ½ scale prototypes, but to achieve accuracy and fidelity of the original to within .001 of an inch. |

| As with all of our other products, we commission custom made iron buckles for the adjustment straps.
In addition, we have duplicated the original patent stencil on the strap and body of the knapsack
