Date Added: Wednesday 16 February, 2011 I just received this along with Nick's officer hat cord, which I reviewed on its own page. Regarding the infantry bugle badge--first off, let's discuss its quality. It is the standard size for the officer hat bugle, with the horn on a soft black background. The horn itself stands out--the gold woven image of the horn is topped and in some places surrounded by a raised gold metallic chain-patterned trim that really makes the bugle almost three-dimensional. The image of it on the website can't do it justice. It is sure to be noticed by anyone with a discerning eye for quality. And now for the piece de resistance: the brass loops on the back of the badge. This makes the badge easy to mount on a hat, and also allows for the same badge to be used on different pieces of headgear. This is a double bonus for me, first off because I can't sew worth a darn, and would have to get it applied by someone else, and secondly because I have more than one hat I use with my officer rig, and now I can put the same badge on any of them. The two little slots that are necessarily cut in the front of a hat for mounting are very hard to notice when the badge is removed, which adds more to its value. This is another fine product from Mr. Sekela.
