esigned to be used with the shelter tent, this two part sectional pole was intended to be carried by the individual soldier on campaign. Made of two sections of hardwood, it was joined together along an angled cut, but a soldered metal ferrule. As per orignals, the wooden projection is turned down from the actual diameter, and not a drilled hole plugged with a wooden dowel as seen on some reproductions.
This pole remained in US Military service through the 19th century, allowing one to use this pole for impressions subsequent to the American Civil War.
