Hospital Steward chevrons came in a wide variety of colors and designs, giving testimony to the large amount of latitude granted to that branch of service. This particular variant is based on a pair which was offered for sale at the Horse Soldier. The nap of the velvet was worn, and although they were in bad shape, appear to have never been worn.

Our reproductions are offered in two color options of silk velvet. The lighter color is very close to the original example, and the emerald green is conforming to regulation. Sold in pairs, they offer a unique and heretofore unseen option in the living history hobby.
