Appearing in Charles Goodyear's 1855 Catalog, titled Gum Elastic, these suspender ends appeared on a plate showing several configurations of suspenders. One of the biggest hurdles in offering this suspender was obtaining the correct hardware. I had been looking for quite some time for originals of the buckles that matched the configuration on the plate. After a long journey, Greg Starbuck found the excavated sample that our reproduction is based upon.

Goodyear's plate (see below) shows them as a separate component of suspenders, which we are offering in the same capacity. These handy accessories can instantly convert any of our non elastic suspenders, or for that matter, the famous sutler row "poor boys" into completely period correct elastic suspenders, with a provenance of AT LEAST 1855.
